SAE Project:

I have participated in a variety of SAE’s including Vegetable Production, Beef Production, and Equine Ownership. Currently, my SAE consists of Equine Placement, riding horses for the Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue, Veterinary Science while shadowing at local veterinary clinics, and Agriculture Education through a variety of advocacy opportunities.

What motivated you to want to become a Missouri FFA officer?

I didn’t grow up on a farm. I don’t come from a farming family. FFA was my introduction to agriculture, and I want to share that experience. Agriculture is diverse and it influences each of our lives every single day, yet much of our society is ignorant of agriculture’s importance. I want to serve the Missouri FFA to advocate for the FFA, our members, and for the entire agriculture industry.

What legacy do you most want to leave with Missouri FFA members during your year of service?

FFA has made an incredible, positive impact on my life, and I want to be able to make a similar impact on other FFA members. FFA should be a place where every member, regardless of agriculture background, or lack thereof, feels included and supported. By creating an inclusive environment, we become facilitators of growth. As a 2023-2024 Missouri FFA State Officer, I want to leave behind a nurturing environment where future FFA members can sprout, grow, and prosper to their fullest potential.

What are your plans for the future?

After graduation in Spring 2024, I hope to attend Colorado State University for a major in Equine Science and ultimately a doctor of veterinary medicine degree. Following college, I plan to go into public health, working to help keep farmers and livestock safe from disease.

What is something unique or interesting that few people know about you?

As a kid, I grew up watching (and still enjoy to this day) original 80’s cartoons such as Jem and the Holograms, He-Man Masters of the Universe, and She-Ra Princess of Power.

Advice to FFA Members

My life motto is, “Life is simple. It just isn’t easy.” Remember that just because something is complicated or hard, it does not make it unattainable.
