SAE Project:

Swine and Beef Production – Entrepreneurship. I raise, sell and show pigs of various breeds, as well as raise a small herd of cattle of various breeds. I work for my family’s hay harvesting and brush clearing business, as well.

Why did I want to serve as a Missouri FFA State Officer?

I was inspired to serve as a state officer after my time at the HYMAX Academy. During the experience, I often found myself feeling like I didn’t fit in or belong there, and it was discouraging. My spirits were soon lifted, however, when the state officers came up and talked about their experiences at HYMAX, and how they felt some of the same things I was feeling in that moment. Since then, I have had the opportunity to interact with many state officers, and they have all encouraged me throughout my journey in FFA. It is my hope that I will be able to support and encourage members as they find their place within the organization.

What legacy do you most want to leave during your year of service?

I hope to leave a lasting impression of kindness! FFA is for everyone, and I want to make sure every member knows that no matter their interests or passions, they can find a place within the organization and people who make it feel like home.

What are your plans for the future?

I will be attending Missouri State University beginning fall of 2025, majoring in agricultural education. I hope to become an ag teacher and leave an impact on future agriculture education students like my teachers have left on me!

What is something unique or interesting that few people know about you?

I am a big plant nerd! I love to learn about new plants, and anywhere I go, you can find me identifying plants from one of the various contests I’ve competed in.

Advice to FFA Members

Take the chance! Even if the outcome of something doesn’t happen exactly the way you want, it’s still a success because you grew and learned something. Don’t let the fear of failure keep you from making memories and gaining valuable experiences.
