Diversified Horticulture – Owning my own cacti and succulent business called “The Crafty Camel.” I make different succulent and cacti arrangements and sell them at local farmers markets. Diversified Livestock – Showing quarter horses and berkshire market hogs. I show my animals at local and state shows in my area.

Why did I want to serve as a Missouri FFA State Officer?

The dream of serving as a Missouri FFA State Officer is one that has grown from freshman year when National Officer Miriam Hoffman came to my school. I remember listening to her speak to my class and being in awe of her. It was the first time in my life I had felt truly inspired. I felt a similar experience when meeting with state officers at Greenhand Motivational Conferences. It is those experiences that have helped me grow into the person I am today. Giving back to this organization is truly one of the best opportunities I have had.

What legacy do you most want to leave during your year of service?

I hope to leave a legacy with Missouri FFA that is impactful and caring. This organization has helped me grow into the person I am today, and I hope I can leave a legacy that is impactful for others. I hope to make real, genuine connections with Missouri FFA members this year. After my year of service, my hope is that those connections will stick with Missouri FFA members for years to come.

What are your plans for the future?

This fall, I will be attending the University of Central Missouri majoring in Music Education and Agricultural Education. My goal is to receive my bachelors degree and begin teaching both music and agriculture at a rural school. I am excited to be able to combine both of my passions and do something I love everyday.

What is something unique or interesting that few people know about you?

Something few people know about me is that I collect vinyl records and cassette tapes. In my free time, I love going to different independent record stores looking for interesting records and cassettes. The ‘80s is my favorite decade, and I love looking for all different types of music from that decade. I hope to share my love of ‘80s music and all music with Missouri FFA members this year.

Advice to FFA Members

Take hold of every opportunity FFA has to offer. We only get four guaranteed years in our blue jacket. Every opportunity in FFA can help change your life for the better. It’s more than just competing on contest teams or getting out of school early. FFA is about making a positive impact in your life and community. The connections you make in FFA will last a lifetime. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. FFA will take you far, but you have to put in what you want to get out.
