SAE Project:

My SAE is beef production entrepreneurship, where I raise and sell registered Brangus cattle. Each summer, my three brothers and I participate in cattle shows across Missouri and northwestern Arkansas. In addition, I sell my home-grown beef to local consumers.

Why did I want to serve as a Missouri FFA State Officer?

I was inspired by former state officers who made me feel welcomed and gave me a sense of belonging within the National FFA Organization. I want to spread that same feeling to other Missouri FFA members in hopes that they find their place in our organization, no matter their background.

What legacy do you most want to leave during your year of service?

I want to leave Missouri FFA members with the confidence to lead with authenticity. No one should ever be afraid to be themselves, because we all bring value to the table.

What are your plans for the future?

After graduating from high school next spring, I plan to attend the University of Missouri to major in either Nutrition and Exercise Physiology or Biochemistry and then pursue a medical career. My roots in agriculture are deep, and no matter what career I ultimately pursue, I know I will always be an advocate for agriculture and for my family’s farm.

What is something unique or interesting that few people know about you?

I am terrified of chickens! My mom loves farm-fresh eggs, but when I was a kid a chicken attacked me while I was doing chores, and I’ve been afraid ever since.

Advice to FFA Members

Growing up with a twin brother, I have always felt like we were being compared to each other. But as I’ve grown, I’ve learned that everyone is unique in their own ways and that we should not compare ourselves to others. Rather, we should focus on building each other up and being the best versions of ourselves we can be.
