What motivated you to want to become a Missouri FFA officer?
Past state officers and my FFA advisors motivated me to become a state officer by showing me that agriculture and FFA is for everyone, not just “farm kids.” I hope to be able to provide the same to another member.
Who is your hero and why?
My mom is my hero because before she passed away, she taught me to never give up for what you believe in and that when you set your mind to something, you can accomplish it with hard work and dedication.
What are your plans for the future?
After college, I plan to teach agriculture in Missouri. I also plan to expand my current business/SAE on a much larger scale.
What is something unique or interesting that few people know about you?
Through my Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project, I gather plants from all over the world — including Florida, Texas, Indonesia, Ecuador and Thailand. I also have over 400 houseplants of my own.
Advice to FFA Members
Set your dreams high, but know that the future is unknown as well. Even if your plans don’t work out as you thought they would, you will still be successful in many other ways.
